As a participating provider, you’re eligible to receive powerful reimbursement benefits that can help cover medical costs like premiums, copays, deductibles, and prescriptions. Think of this as your Fund “plus” — the added financial support to lighten your health care expenses.

Here’s what you gain, how it works, and how to keep everything running smoothly.

Applying for Benefits

 

To apply for Health Care Reimbursement Program Coverage, you must be enrolled in a qualified health insurance plan.

You must show proof that you are enrolled in one of the qualified health insurance plans listed below. If you’re not currently enrolled in one of the plans below, you can enroll in one and then be apply for the Reimbursement Program.

Covered California Silver-level HMO plan on Covered California*
Medicare or Medicare Advantage Medicare or Medicare Advantage

Veterans Administration (VA) health care benefits VA health care benefits
TRICARE TRICARE
Employer-sponsored health insurance plan/COBRA as an eligible employee Your employer’s plan
Employer-sponsored health insurance plan/COBRA as an eligible dependent (the plan from your spouse’s employer) Your spouse’s employer’s plan OR Silver-level HMO plan on Covered California*

*If you live in an area that an HMO health plan is not offered/ available, you may enroll in a EPO or PPO silver plan, whichever is lowest cost.

Contact the Fund Office for help:

If you are not insured under a qualified health insurance plan right now. You can enroll in one in order to become eligible to apply for CCPU Health Care benefits.

If you are not eligible for any of the plans listed above.

What You Can Receive

When approved for the Reimbursement Program, you will have access to a robust suite of benefits:

  • Premium reimbursements (for qualified health plans) to help with your monthly health insurance costs

  • Out-of-pocket medical expense reimbursements — copays, deductibles, coinsurance, prescription costs, and more

    • Up to $9,800* per year (depending on your health plan) in reimbursement coverage for eligible health costs

  • Coverage for dependents (spouse or children) under certain plans, once their coverage becomes effective

These benefits are available in tandem with your existing health insurance — the Fund does not replace your health plan. Instead, it flexes to support you financially.

To complete your application online, you’ll need proof of coverage for your health plan (a document showing your name as the policyholder, the name of your insurance plan, the coverage period, and the amount you pay for coverage).
